What type of aircraft is used to fly to Mammoth?
Alaska Airlines flight to and from MMH will be operated using a Bombardier Q400 (DH4). This 76 seat, high-speed, twin-engine turboprop is one of the most technologically advanced regional aircraft in the world. The Q400 is also among the most environmentally friendly aircraft today, burning 30 percent less fuel and producing 30 percent lower emissions than comparable jets.

Yes. On Alaska Airlines your ski or snowboard equipment may be checked as long as it is packaged in a proper soft or hard ski/snowboard bag, and is no more than 115 linear inches. Sporting equipment checked in addition to the free baggage allowance is charged an excess fee of $25.
Yes, on United Airlines your ski or snowboard equipment may be checked. One snowboard bag, plus one boot bag containing boots and bindings only, are allowed in place of one checked bag. If more than one set of snowboarding equipment is checked, each additional set of equipment (as outlined), will be counted as one special item, and the associated fee(s) will apply. If combined weight of snowboard bag and boot bag exceeds 50 pounds (23 kg) an overweight fee applies. Boot bag must be separate from the snowboard bag Snowboard acceptable length range = 53-72 inches (135-183 cm).

Will my luggage be transferred to connecting flights?
Alaska Airlines and United Airlines have baggage and ticketing agreements with most major U.S. and International airlines. Please confirm arrangements upon check-in.

What Terminal does Alaska Airlines depart from at LAX?
Horizon Air departs from Terminal 3 : gates 30-39 at the Los Angeles International Airport. The Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air Ticket counter is located in Terminal 3 and is open daily from 4:00 a.m. - midnight.

What happens if the aircraft can't land at MMH due to bad weather?
In the case of bad weather, the flight to Mammoth Yosemite Airport will either be delayed from departing or not take off. The aircraft will not land in Bishop.
